About the Role:

The Project Manager will be responsible for managing a variety of engineering projects that integrate both hardware & software components into reliable systems. This person will report to the Manager of Project Management and will work with other Project Managers, Business Development/Program Managers, Engineering Leads, and Customers in their day to day activities. 

Candidate will serve as an active manager of projects by implementing meetings, project monitoring, project reporting and managing all assignments relative to projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with a cross-functional engineering team to develop custom solutions to meet customer needs
  • Serves as an active manager of projects and is responsible for budget, schedule, and labor for all relevant projects
  • Create, analyze, and implement integrated project schedules and budgets
  • Identify work elements of the projects
  • Schedule the project work elements and determine the resources required for each work element
  • Assign work and follow-up as project demands
  • Work with other project managers to balance resource workloads
  • Coordinates activities across all teams to ensure that all projects and deliverables are met on time and within scope
  • Supports Business Development in the ROM/Proposal process by creating budgets, schedules, and labor plans for new opportunities
  • Scope Management Ensures scope creep/changes are carefully managed and agreed to by appropriate stakeholders
  • Cost Management - Prepare cost estimates/budgets, track spend, and manage risks
  • Quality Management - Work with project team to ensure quality standards are being met as required by contract or internal standards
  • Communications Management - Ability to effectively communicate project milestones, status, and risks at all levels of the organization
  • Project Progress / Project Monitoring - Track progress to ensure on-time delivery to customers and track costs (EAC vs. plan)
  • Customer Relations Management - Work closely with customers during project execution
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Technical Project Management experience with Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related area
  • 2+ years of Technical Project Management experience with Masters Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related area
  • Experience in managing projects integrating hardware and software components into reliable systems
  • Understanding of a healthy software development life cycle
  • Experience working in Research & Development (R&D) environments is required
  • Experience in managing & projects and coaching developers within an agile methodology
  • Analytical problem solver and strong quantitative thinker who learns quickly
  • Ability to juggle and prioritize competing demands on your time
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification desired
