Assist the company in achieving the corporate strategy set forth for the department.  This involves working closely with other department heads and the executive team to understand and help set long term department goals.  This position is responsible for executing these goals and maintaining the financial and personnel resourcing needs to achieve these goals.  
This position will spread the corporate culture to the department by setting the department structure and identifying employees to be hired or promoted.  Employee retention and retention planning is also key responsibility of this position.  

As a department that will be responsible for multiple projects, this position will be responsible for the successful execution of these projects.  (Indirectly through project managers and technical leadership). This also involves the generation and reports on department budgets and project statuses.  
Working closely with other departments (through management team) to maintain consistency and communication between departments.

Management Responsibilities:
  • Direct management of Defense Leadership Team
    • Hold employee one-on-one coaching sessions
    • Negotiate salaries
    • Set team goals 
    • Performance reviews for engineering managers
  • Employee growth and development strategies
    • Identify employee professional development goals with Human Resources
  • Department structure
    • Ensure department is properly staffed and structured
General Department Responsibilities:
  • Define and improve the business processes for the division
  • Involved in long-term business planning at a managerial and executive level
  • Work with UAS Leadership Team to generate, maintain, and track quarterly goals
  • Collaborate with Management Team to develop financial plans
  • Present reporting to management team to include:
    • Department budget
    • Status of all department projects
  • Perform periodic audits to ensure processes are followed and IP generation is in line with company needs
 
Qualifications:
  • 10-15 years of professional experience in an operations management role 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field 
  • CPA or MBA preferred
