Job Description: This role will be the face of Torc to our automotive customers both internally and externally. You will manage a portfolio of automotive projects. This includes bringing on new customers while maintaining relationships with existing customers. You will be charged with shaping the path of our automotive program area through execution of our company strategy and will communicate this strategy to keep us aligned. Bringing in the projects that best align with our long-term strategy in a sustainable and responsible way will be key to your success.
 
Responsibilities: 
  • Overall
    • Adherence to Business Development Process
    • Responsible for maintaining book to budget tied to revenue goals
    • Develop and maintain program strategy that aligns with TORC vision
    • Align current and future program opportunities across TORC
    • Initiate and maintain relationships with external clients: primes, subs and vendors
    • Understand problems in the marketplace and spotlight these items at TORC
    • Understand and help create TORC solutions to customer problems
    • Keep reporting up to date 
  •  Business Development
    • Manage external relationships
    • Understand problems in the marketplace
    • Communicate market problems to TORC
    • Understand and create TORC solutions
    • Accountable to run opportunities through our Business Development process
  •  Program Management
    • Own program strategy
    • Face of TORC to our customer(s)
    • Communicate program plan and artifacts
    • Responsible for creating and maintaining Automotive communication plan
    • Ensure appropriate team structure for success
    • Ability to tell the story of the automotive program
 
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, engineering or strong technical disciplines preferred.
  • 5+ years business development or program management experience.
  • Practical knowledge of the auto industry preferred.
  • Self-directed and driven, with an ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with minimal direct supervision.
  • Highly organized with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills: equally comfortable with delivering technical information, as well as strategy presentations to both internal and external customers.
  • Able to be flexible as needs change, moving seamlessly between the strategic and the tactical, while maintaining focus on our prescribers and end-users needs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
