Product Manager - Hardware

Job Description: 
This role will be the face of Torc hardware product both internally and externally. This individual will own our portfolio of products which includes facilitating product creation, a clear support path, product sales and customer management. This individual will be charged with showcasing our products to the market (trade shows and launches) and providing the appropriate business model for sales and support along with a long-term product roadmap. All compliance issues (ITAR, international sales, etc.) will also fall in their purview.

Responsibilities: 
  • Own portfolio of products
    • Working with Manufacturing to ensure a sufficient inventory of all Torc product is available
    • Build base of support documentation
    • Own backlog and roadmap for each product
      • Work with Torc teams to enhance products as necessary
  • Develop the long term Torc product strategy
  • Market research for each product
  • Working with the Torc Marketing team to launch new products
  • Work with our engineering teams to build new products/modify existing products
  • Provide regular reporting
    • Financial (margins, break-even analysis, etc.)
    • Inventory
    • Projections (units, revenue, etc)
    • Product quality (manufacturing|customer facing)
  • Support:
    • Provide tier 1 support
    • Define support path (level 2, 3, etc.)/channels (modes of communication)
    • Definition of product warranty 
  • Attend trade-shows/demos to showcase Torc products
  • Provide business model & pricing
  • Ensure compliance requirements are met
  • Collect feedback from customers & own customer relationship
  • Own customer list
  • Primary contact for all product inquiries (point person)
 
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, marketing or engineering disciplines preferred.
  • 3+ years product management, product marketing or application engineering experience.
  • Strong technical acumen and ability to understand how our products are chosen, prescribed, sold, and installed.
  • Practical knowledge of the construction, auto and/or defense industries preferred.
  • Self-directed and driven, with an ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with minimal direct supervision.
  • Highly organized with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills: equally comfortable with delivering technical specs to engineers, as well as strategy presentations to customers.
  • Able to be flexible as needs change, moving seamlessly between the strategic and the tactical, while maintaining focus on our prescribers and end-users needs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
