Program Advisor - SUAS

The Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC) is seeking a Small Unmanned Aerial Systems (SUAS) Program Advisor to support the SUAS Stan/Eval program, accomplish the AFCEC SUAS mission, and effectively and efficiently maintain the SUAS force.  This position is located at Tyndall AFB, FL.

Responsibilities:
  • Support and maintain the SUAS Stan/Eval and Training program, to include the assessment of mission needs, development of concepts of operations and employment, procedures for airspace coordination and de-confliction, and integration of operational policy, guidance, and training
  • Provide unit-level technical support, planning, consultation, analysis, expert advice and execution to establish, integrate, maintain, sustain and improve the AFCEC SUAS program, training, and equipment
  • Plan and conduct flight evaluations and emergency procedure evaluations as outlined in AFCEC procedures and Air Force Instructions (AFI) and Publications to validate mission readiness and effectiveness of the SUAS program and SUAS-O force
  • Serve as a liaison between AFCEC, TORC Robotics, and multiple USAF commands with SUAS stakeholders
  • Assist in maintaining the SUAS Manager (SUASMAN) database tracking the operational status of all aerial system and certified SUAS Operators (SUAS-O)
  • Conduct SUAS flights for experiments and demonstrations 
  • Perform system checkouts and minor user maintenance
Desired Skills:
  • Expertise in the areas of SUAS program management, SUAS standardization and evaluation, operations, training, and equipment accountability
  • Administrative, security, documentation, and presentation skills to provide timely status reports for multiple stakeholders
  • Knowledge of joint and service doctrine/policy for unmanned systems with a specific focus on Groups 1-3 SUAS
  • In-depth knowledge of USAF components, mission requirements and regulatory processes in the areas of airspace management and integration, SUAS operations and requirements, lessons learned, and operational policy and procedures.
  • Ability to acquire a DoD Secret clearance
